About the workshop
You are invited to join me to create your own unique artwork at your own pace. There is absolutely no artistic skill required just an open heart and mind and a willingness to have fun and connect to creative source. Using a variety of techniques and materials you will be creating a gorgeous artwork on a wooden board and building up layers of collage, stencils, paint, scribbles and finishing with a mandala of your choice.
About the teacher
My name is Gillian Smith. I am a mixed media artist, mentor, healer and storyteller with an endless curiosity for all aspects of the creative process and its connection to sacred energy.
When I sit down to the blank page, I have no idea what will emerge which is an incredibly freeing (slightly scary) way to create. I try to get out of my own way, connect to creative source and allow the energy to flow onto the page and work with what manifests which is usually cool.
Letting go of any expectations around the result allows me to express myself more freely and seems to make my art more authentic and is heaps more fun than overthinking stuff. I have connected to the creative joy that I experienced as a child and find I am on an exciting journey of discovery.
I believe that everyone is a creative pilgrim on their own journey guided by intention and intuition. My mission is to inspire and encourage creative energy to flourish through my art and workshops by assisting others to explore the creative process in their own unique way.
